Dogs of this breed adapted to severe frosts of Siberia and are very strong and endurable. The breed was introduced to the USA at the beginning of the 20th century, when they were brought to Alaska. The breed was recognized by the AKC in 1930. Siberian huskies obtained from the rescues are only pet quality dogs.
